Scratch Game Design

Other users influenced my game by seeing what can be done and what has been done. That really showed me that I can do a simple chase game at least. Also, some of my friends in my GT class were making like double player chase game. As soon as he said that I was like "Oh if he can do that then I know I can make my game." So other users gave me confidence.

Both a platform game and chase game takes work. There was a lot of different coding during it. And I'm still not done with my platform game. With a platform game you need to make a gravity engine and with a chase game you need to make the other character move towards the sprite. Well there was a lot of code for both but its still worth it.

My best code is to the right in my chase game. I am proud of making the cat follow the parrot. My most difficult bug fixes is making the sprite have to stay on the platforms. Which I sadly haven't done yet.

  1. This is a super fun game and I like how you can win and lose the game but maybe you can make the cat a little faster that way it can challenge the person.

  2. I love the idea of a cat chasing a bird
It was kind of easy I would suggest making the cat a little fast to make it more challenging
    Your game ran really smooth

  3. I like your idea of having the cat chase the bird! I noticed that every time the cat touched me it was because the wings were too big, maybe make the wings a little smaller by clicking on the sprite, going to costumes and editing it! I really liked that the bird was "talking" to me, that was a really nice touch!

  4. I loved this idea for a cat chasing a bird. It was easy to win because, the cat was kinda slow. Your game was functioning really well and the controls were smooth.

  5. I though your game went very smoothly!
I think you could of made your game a bit more challenging by adding another sprite to chase or speed up the cat.
I also loved how after a while the bird made comments like "ouch"!

  6. I really like ow you put a bird and cat sprite. reminds me of the looney tunes.
However your bird sprite is a little to big. Maybe you could put the "set size to" code and set it to 50%.
I'm sure i you made that change this game overall is perfect.

  7. I like the backdrop and what you added to it. Your cat can kinda fly. The cat must capture the square orange!!! xD

  8. Good job on the arrow key the move great! You need to fix the square put if the cat sprite is touching sprite two say next level and then change the background or something.Great job I like the background you choose.

  9. I love how your left and right arrow keys work smoothly!
Although, when the game first starts, it goes straight up.
I also like the sprite and the backdrop you used.

  11. I like how you were able to get your platforms to slowly move down. If you tried to make a gravity engine, I think you might've set it to "1" instead of "-1" I like how you have an interesting background and sprite.

  12. For your chase game I found it really smooth running, however I fond it a bit generic, but it got the job done. In my eyes you made it to the requirements and it was fun to play.
