Poetic Personal Statement

Hi guys, I had an amazing summer but I am glad to be back in school and doing blog posts again.

Poetry, I think, is a creative way of expression and showing off your beauty, passion, and writing ability. It's basically all of your creativity in a rhythmic and rhyming pattern. I think poetry is used to express and feel emotions and maybe even learn something. It is both beautiful and expressive to writers and readers. I think poetry is very useful, fun, and I think I'm pretty descent at writing poetry mostly in whatever subject. I enjoy poetry and I hope other people do to.

I was born with it and so were you
Never had to dream if it came true
Always knowing what will happen
It's what gets you good and zappin'
Confidence is key and you know it
So get out and boldly show it
Be big, be bold, and even brave
So with that get up and show that you rave

I thought I would give myself more of a challenge to use rhythm and rhyme. I used rhyme by just thinking of sentences or statements that had a rhythmic connection and words that rhymed at the end. It was fun and I did a lot better than expected. Since I've heard so many songs that rhyme and have rhythm I just took what I've heard probably a million times and put it into words. I'm good at poetry compared to other people and have been getting better. I had a lot of fun on this project and am so excited that we are just getting started in GT.

Music Video Finale

P2T1 Dangerous Woman from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

Hi guys, before I start this blog post I would just like to say thank you for all the views and support on my blogs. This will be my last blog post of my sixth grade year. Next blog post I will be a seventh grader. Which is this coming August. Have a great summer and enjoy the blog.

Underneath this text is the 2 minutes from the song our team used in the music video.

Song Title: Dangerous Woman
Artist: Arianna Grande

Our music video's storyline matches our song, which is "Dangerous Woman" by Arianna Grande, because the lyrics are all about being independent and free. But our story is about a group of women trying to be crazy and do whatever they want. It starts out with people in a very serious office meeting around a table when one person rebels and makes the scene very chaotic. It also makes everyone go crazy. In our storyboard we have people meeting new people and "Infecting" them as my teammates put it in our storyboard. It is a inspirational and funny music video and we put so much effort into this music video, seriously, all of our team has put so much into this video.

My favorite fast-edit montage sequence is when we switch from all of us lip singing. I think that fast-edit montages are important because it gets so many different angles. It also has the possibility of getting everybody a little bit of screen time or camera time. Fast edit montages make you do a lot of filming, which is tiring and takes much time but its worth it when you are editing and say to yourself I'm glad we took that time to really work on this quick but useful piece of film. It may be a quick one second fly by that only the people who look closely saw this, but to the editor and filmmakers its everything .

This music video showcases my best work because it lets me use a little bit of every resource and every tool that I have ever used this year in my intro year of GT. It involves very precise editing with iMovie, I get to use Photoshop, for something fun finally, which is making the intro video screen, it still involves picture taking with the three behind the scenes pictures, and so much more that I can't mention. The video itself is kind of a wrap up of what I've done through the whole year which is me making a fool of myself, but also getting a very good final project for my last project of the year.

Animated Life Lessons

Alina Puig and Sophia Gregory were my teammates for this project. Alina Puig is a perfectionist who over achieves in anyway possible. Sophia is a quiet, smart, energetic person who is very sure about everything she does. In our film, these traits are portrayed because Alina and Sophia are feelings that are actually inside my head. Alina is fantasy who always wants more always wants something different. Sophia is reality who thinks that everything is okay just the way it is. Make the similarities between real life and the animation.

We use humor in our story by, as you can tell by the plot, confusing the characters to make them seem ridiculously funny. They're feelings they only think or feel about what they are labeled as. But when they switch they are confused and scared and not used to doing what they do. Our story's message relates to our audience because people everyday are trying to be someone different for someone and sometimes some people go to far or do it too much. Our story teaches that it's ok to be different and yourself and you instead of fitting in all the time. Like Dr. Seuss said "Why fit in when you were born to stand out.".

Considering that me, Sophia, and Alina have never worked before our productivity was very low when it came to animation. I think it was because we were very effortless to have each scene done within an hour, which is the amount of time we had for each period. But when it came to editing we were decently productive. Our team's biggest challenge was getting things done because in animation I had the most frames and number of seconds to animate and I didn't do very well. When I was not even halfway done with my scene they're almost done. Our best moment in production was coming together after the final product and saying it's okay if we made mistakes, it's ok if we are slow at animating because we are a team and we are done.

Character Development

Hi guys, my GT teacher has told us that some eight graders that are also in GT have posted a video that has been posted and published and are now in the final 25 out of 600 videos that were published in this program called No Bull. Please Click here and when you do, go to the bottom and click on vote. Thank you, and please promote this video as much as you can.

I am the type of person that's different than almost everybody. I like being different because it helps me stand out of the crowd and like I said I'm weird and I like standing out of the crowd. Some humorous imperfections about me are that like I said I'm weird I'll go all out in spirit week. Also, one thing about me is that I take almost everything really seriously unless they actually tell me that it's a joke before they say it. Overall, I'm a bystander to some people, I'm a weirdo to others, and I'm a friend to the most important.

The character traits I plan to exaggerate while animating is to act like I'm trying to impress everybody but not get to cocky and gangster like. I'm also the kind of person that is worried about what everyone else is thinking. I don't know why I think I've just been a person who has always been like that. Some people think that it's a bad thing, honestly I don't, but sometimes I'll worry too much and end up making a fool of myself. I have been trying to get rid of it, but I just have to think what other people think. I plan to animate this by being a little bit have my head down and not try to anything to fancy in my animation.

To animate a GIF animation in Photoshop is you need to is first take a picture of yourself and in Photoshop use the quick selection tool to make a cut out of yourself. Then, crop out your background so that it's only a picture of you. But later, you'll have to put in a background if you want to have a good background. After that, you make the character move with puppet warp in each animation frame. I like my animation because I do a hilarious and girly movement that is so funny.

MOV. Film Festival

P2T7_WizardryTeachesCallum from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

My story's moral or lesson connects with the audience because people are trying these days to do impossible things and that is what the lesson of my story relates to. People think that somethings are impossible you just have to work hard for it. I like to say "The more impossible, the harder it is to do". If your trying to become a superhero then it might take an incredible amount of hard work and dedication to have super strength or fly or whatever you want. But all you need to know is it takes hard work and dedication to do what you need to do.

The overall message of my story is to work hard for your dreams and to accomplish what you can do. Just like I said "The more impossible, the harder it is to do". It's hard to accomplish something thats so impossible nobody has accomplished it. Except for you people say that nothing is impossible, I don't agree with this. Sometimes getting the impossible things is sometimes well..... impossible. And sometimes we need to just except that.

The hardest challenge our team faced was being perfect. In my team was Callum Meredith, and Jason Hoy, and we all have imperfections. When I heard that our movie had to be 90 seconds minimum I automatically made the beginning, middle, and end longer right after Callum did the script we automatically had to change the script. We also had a hard time agreeing on a lot of things. We disagreed on how it should be filmed, what genre the story should be, and so much more. However, we did make an awesome final product

Tiny Spherical Worlds

Composite images are important because maybe you want to take a subject that is really wide from an angle that you can't get all of the subject in one shot. Sometimes on shot isn't enough because of how the picture will look from the right, maybe right in front of it and maybe a close up. Basically there's might be more than one angle that will look good of the subject.

Polar is like your on your own little world or the object is on the little world. Spherical is a picture shaped like a sphere with the subject in the middle. The difference is in spherical you can have a little more background and more color than polar. They are very similar and took the same but the final product is different.

The convincing thing about my tiny worlds is the sky. What I mean is the sphere shaped panorama made into a circle also the world. Also, the frame of the picture is what makes it realistic. Mainly its the shape of the entire photo which is a sphere. In space planets are shaped like spheres and the entire photo goes along with that theme. Thats what the photo is supposed to represent and it works.

Hockney Style Joiners

David Hockney is a professional artist and photographer. He made a type of photo image called photomontages. In GT we have been learning about and making photomontages. David Hockney's photomontages are different than mine because he is a professional at photomontages, but unlike me I started photomontages like two weeks ago. So his is more professional than mine.

An image can send both a positive and negative messages by having a certain feeling. It has to do a lot with the lighting. If a image is dark and not lit up and not hopeful then it is sending a dark and negative message. However, if there is an image where it's dark and there's a little glare or big shine through the dark clouds than it is probably sending a very sweet and positive message. Whatever image or feeling it is hopefully sending a beautiful message.

The message I intend my audience to see is that the world can be nice to you, and if it's not it will come around eventually. I actually have multiple messages, but that is the main message. Some other messages I intend is to never give up,try hard in everything you do, and more that I can't remember at this moment. You'll see some more in my personal manifesto blog post.
